MAURA LACY

about
ME
Ever since I was little, I've always loved putting on whatever costume I could find and dancing + singing around for the world to see. Thankfully, once I grew up, I realized that never had to change. I'm a DC based actor/singer/dancer, originally from Frederick, MD, and I am always thrilled to perform in any way I can. After spending a few years performing professionally in Tennessee and Georgia, and a couple years based in NYC, I'm glad to be a little closer to home.
Being on stage has always made me feel like a kid on Christmas morning: lighting up every cell of my body and expanding my heart three times its normal size. It's nothing short of magical. Theatre gives me a place to express myself fully, allows me to connect + create with others, and stimulates conversation and growth. I believe in the power of art to heal and create change, both in ourselves and in our communities.

When I'm not onstage, you can find me playing the role of Mary Poppins – either as a nanny, as a vocal coach for young performers or as the "fun" aunt to six adorable munchkins.
